What I'm Loving Wednesday!

First off, I am LOVING this cool weather. Need to get some more boots & scarves to match this perfect weather.

Also, I am LOVING that I got to teach my FIRST (that's right, first!) science lesson today! Our principal this year is very different than last year's and so we have a bit more freedom with our lessons. Starting every Wednesday, we will be teaching science for an hour. Today, we did an exciting lesson called Gummy Bear Galore! It was so fun to watch the kids and hear them talk about how cool it was. I am planning on doing a classroom post soon, so I will post deets in that. :)

I am LOVING my subscription to Birchbox. And speaking of, I should be getting my birchbox for the month of October here soon. For those of you who don't know, you pay $10/month and get a precious box once a month of awesome beauty samples! You can enter your skin type, hair type, interests, etc. and they will send you things they think you'd like based off your profile. Last month, I got some fall nail polish, lip balm, mascara (which I'm OBSESSED with), face makeup for people with awful skin like myself, and some brazilian blow out spray for little frizz-heads like me. If you are a girl and are into that stuff, I highly recommend getting a subcription. WAY worth the $10/month.

I am also LOVING Breaking Bad. Yeah, yeah old news right? Well I started watching it while I was pregnant and became obsessed. Then I got kinda bored with it. But now I am back at it and ready to start season 5! So nobody ruin the new season for me. OR ELSE!

I am LOVING that I went to yoga yesterday. I missed it! I am not very good, but it's so relaxing and so good for your body. A new hot yoga place opened up in Nampa and I am preparing myself for that soon. :)

I am LOVING everything about Ri's cute little personality. She is now eating some baby food and cereal a few times a day. Some times she loves it and others she acts like I'm Satan for trying to feed it to her. She is also LOVING her new little Jungle-themed jumperoo. I will post more deets in her 6 month update.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Long Weekend Recap

First off, who said weekends are supposed to be relaxing? Because mine DEFINITELY was anything but relaxing. However, it was a lot of fun!

Us teachers had Thursday AND Friday off due to State Teacher Conferences (who goes to those anyway?) I started my weekend on Thursday by going Halloween shopping with my sweet little nephew, Xavier and watching Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2! I knew Xavier would agree to keep me company if I told him we were going to Halloween stores (he's freakishly obsessed). I decided to go to Old Navy first because I heard they had some cute costumes there (and I had a coupon but whatevs). The first thing he says when we walk in is, "Hey! This doesn't look like a Halloween store!" Haha smart kid. Anyway, I ended up scoring an adorable unicorn costume for Rilyn for $13! Heck yeah! We also went to Michaels and got some little Halloween knick knacks just for fun. :) We ended the day by watching Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. I was SOOOOO happy he picked that movie because I've been dying to see it. Way cute! I'd almost (almoooosttt) say it's worth paying $10.25 to see.

The weekend was so long I seriously don't even remember what I did on Friday & Saturday was a pretty lazy day. Saturday night I went to good ole' NP to celebrate a friend's birthday which was very entertaining as always. :)

Sunday we took MORE of Rilyn's 6 month pictures. A week or so ago, my wonderful sister in law, Sammy, took some super cute outdoor pictures of Ri and on Sunday we did her indoor 6 month pictures. Sam did SUCH a good job! Here are some cutie patooty pics from the indoor session:

My personal favorite!

My sweet little ginger princess ;)

 Rub-a-dub-dub-baby in the tub!

P.S. Her hair looks SUPER red in these pictures (which I LOVE), but it's not this red in real life. It does have a little red tint to it. I'm actually hoping she does have red hair. So pretty :)

Here are a few from the outdoor sesh. (Rilyn was not impressed with these at all btw)

I can't wait to print these off!
Also, Sunday my mom and I went to my favorite store, Babies-R-Us, and got Rilyn a sweet little Jumperoo so she can practice her vertical for basketball. (ha!) She is seriously so obsessed with it. I love watching her bounce and bounce and bounce! Her little legs remind me of Mumble from Happy Feet. It's so precious.

Ri had a ton of fun shopping despite how tired she was. Such a lil trooper.

A not so great photo of Ri bouncing. She bounces so much it's hard to get a good picture! Silly girl.

There's our fun-filled weekend in a nutshell. Ri also turned 6 months at the end of September so keep an eye out for a sweet post about her old age coming soon! :)

WILW: Fall Bucket list

In honor of what I'm loving Wednesday, I thought I would make a fall bucket list. Most things that I am loving today have to do with my favorite season, so I thought I would make a bucket list of things I fully intend on doing this fall. :) (I may or may not have borrowed this idea from another blogger)

1. Drink a moderate amount of PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES! I love Starbucks. And Dutch Bros. Like there should be a facebook official relationship status for our undying love. Sometimes I get a little carried away which results in an unhappy bank account AND number on the scale. (I think many of us can relate) So I am going to try to practice self control and use them as a treat, rather than a daily necessity. Gonna be a tough one.

2. Since the weather is (supposed to be) getting cooler, I feel more inclined to relax with a snuggie (which is also on this season's bucket list) and a good book. I love, love, love to read but have a hard time finding time. SO on my bucket list this fall is the goal to read lots more. I am currently reading the Harry Potter books since I have seen the movies but not read the books. Books= way better. If any of you smarty pants have a great book suggestion throw it my way! :)

3. Take Ri baby to the pumpkin patch! This is one of my favorite things. She obviously won't remember but I sense some adorable pictures coming from a cute little trip like this.

4. Carve pumpkins! Messy, but fun. I have also been searching for some other great pumpkin decorating activities on good ole' Pinterest.

5. Make those disgusting tasting yet so cute and fun Halloween sugar cookies. My nephew Xavier is seriously OBSESSED with Halloween. He watches Halloween movies year round and also asks if it's Halloween yet almost every day. So I think some Halloween cookie decorating is in the future for us.

6. Watch some college football! Wahhoooooo! Now we all know how great the Vandal football team is, but regardless, I would like to keep up with it more this year. We can still have fun, right? It's the thought that counts. ;)

7. Go to the Haunted World/Haunted House/Corn Maze/Etc. ONE of those things. I am a huge scaredy-cat and haven't been since high school, but I think I'm ready to go back so I can get my fix and be completely traumatized for the next 5 years.

8. Take my cute little pumpkin trick-or-treating! Once again, too young to remember, but too cute to not go and take a billion pictures. Any cute Halloween costume ideas?

9. Make lots of yummy, healthy crockpot recipes! My crockpot is my homeboy. That's pretty much the only way I cook. And I have found a ton of yummy fall soup recipes on Pinterest that I'm excited to try!

10. Last but definitely not least, take Ri Ri's 6 month pictures! Yay! She will be 6 months at the end of September so I am going to have my sister-in-law take some cute fall pictures of my little monkey. Stay tuned. :)

5 Things

Okay so I know I haven't blogged in a LONG time. I'm sure you've all been crying yourselves to sleep because of it. I apologize. I have been super duper busy with work and being a mommy and all that jazz. SO here we go!

1. A few weekends ago, Ri and I went with my friend Whitney, her sister Heidi, and their kids to a private zoo thing called Babby's Farm. I thought it was just a cute little petting zoo but they have really cool animals there too! We got a guided tour around the zoo and got to see some creepy/cute lemurs, sloths, some sort of cats, and some freaky little rodent deer. We also got to feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies. And when I say we I mean everyone else did besides me and my scaredy cat daughter. There were also some cute little goats, tiny wittle donkeys, and yucky, smelly pot bellied pigs. Inside the "gift shop" (a shed) was an adorable little baby lemur that especially enjoyed leaping from person to person. She was cute....from a distance. It was SUPER DUPER hot so Ri and I decided to peace out a little early. We missed the camel and zebra but Rilyn hasn't yelled at me too much for it. Yet.
Ri baby & I in the kangaroo pen! EEEEE!
2. This weekend I had the pleasure of attending my good friend Macee's wedding! First off, I love weddings. And the fact that it was a childhood friend's wedding made it that much more special.  They had it at a ranch in Banks and had a super cute rustic theme to go with it. They had a BEAUTIFUL, heart-felt ceremony followed by tons of yummy food (especially the tri-tip),drinks, and dancing! Pictures borrowed from Shi Shi:

Bridal party!
                                                      Whitney, Shianne, and me

3. Meanwhile in lover land, my brother and sister in law are in Jamaica! I am super, super jealous. :( On the plus side, my mom and I have been house/baby/dog sitting for them while they are snorkeling and drinking on the beach. Although I am a little jealous, I have to admit that spending time with my hilarious niece and sweet nephew is one of my favorite things in the world. We spent the weekend/week playing in the pool, drawing pictures, and watching Epic (Xavier's new obsession).

Their view from the hotel room. Jelly.

Roscoe wanted in on some pool fun.
4. Yesterday, the 26th, was the first day of school for students! Yippppeeeee! I had been into the school almost every day since August 1st. I moved classrooms and had to do about 109384070498 bulletin boards and completely set up my classroom again. It was nice to have a blank slate to work with, but a TON of work. Thank goodness for my teammate, Betsy, for helping me. I am SOOOOO excited about this school year. I have a small class of awesome students. Pictures coming soon. :) Get EXCITED! (Sometimes a little Kappa comes out in me. Sorry I'm not sorry.)

5. Ri baby is officially 5 months today! She's almost a half year old. Time is seriously flying. Apparently, it goes even faster when you have little kidlets. She is such a happy baby and I am so very lucky.

Ri baby's likes:
 talking to herself
singing to her ma maw
 laying under her play mat
sleeping in Uncle Jason and Aunt Sammy's bed (she likes to pretend she's a Princess and sprawl out like she owns it)
laughing at her cousin Amaya (she thinks EVERYTHING Amaya does is just hilarious)
bath time
playing with her BFF Daisy
being social
getting undressed (she laughs out loud every time I take her onesie off. probs not a good sign but we'll work on it)
car rides
silly noises
sucking on her fingers
playing with her toesies
watching cartoons, especially Barney

Ri baby's dislikes:
loud noises
sudden movements
people making fun of her chunky legs
taking long naps
Boise State Broncos (okay maybe I made that one up)

Reaching for her toes

Dear Friday

Dear Friday,
Hello there! Long time no see eh? Okay so I have to admit I kind of forgot that today was Friday. You see, Friday, since I am a high rolling, money-making teacher I often forget about you. But what I love about you, Friday, is that you don't ever hold that against me. You still treat me just as good as ever before. Anyway, I'm really glad you're here. Let's be best friends forever k?

Okay! I'm going to stop talking like a real freak-a-zoid and get down to business. I am pretty excited for a few reasons. Here we go.

1. Xavier & I went to some thrift stores today and got some great board games for my classroom (for when it's inside recess) and some other school supplies.

2. I figured out my theme for my classroom next year & found some great organization tips! Yay! Thanks Pinterest, you're my homie.

3. Also, it's Friday night and I am sitting at home reading good ole Harry Potter.

4. Tomorrow is my sister in law's birthday AND she's having a luau (sp?)! Rilyn told me she's totally stoked out of her mind for her first luau. I really wish I could've found a grass skirt for baby Ri but I didn't have much luck searching today.

Anywho, hope you're all having as wild of a Friday night as me! Adios bitchachos!

3rd Month Faves

Holy balls! Is it just me or is time flying? Ri turned THREE MONTHS on June 27th. Where does the time go? In honor of her three month birthday (haha) I thought I'd post some things that were major life savers during her third month of life. Okay I'll shut up and starting posting.

I feel pretty lucky to have such a sweet, easy baby. I tried not to get into the habit of rocking her all the way to sleep before every nap and before bed time. I'll rock her a little bit until she's sleepy, then put her down (and naturally her eyes POP wide open) and let her put herself to sleep so to speak. Something that she really really loves is her cute little owl mobile. Every time I lay her down and turn it on, she smiles at me like, "Oh thanks, mom!" Kinda breaks my heart a little cause little does she know.....she's about to go to sleep. Haha. BUT I'm SO happy she loves it and I am able to get some use out of it because I've heard a lot of people say they only bought theirs for looks and never used theirs.

My sweet little angel also has a terrible cold that I think she caught from her horrid mother. Poor thing has had snot running down her nose constantly! I bought some boogie wipes cause I liked the name, but turns out they have actually really been helpful! I've been wiping her nose left and right, annoying her to death, but they are really gentle on her nose and have saline in them too!
Rilyn LOVE, LOVE, LOVES her little bouncer. It vibrates and plays music, so I call it her baby massage chair. It's pretty great. I always put her in it when I need to get ready or do something around the house. She just sits in it and smiles, loving life.
This isn't the exact bouncer I have, but it's  very similar!

Aaaaaaand this post wouldn't be complete without a cute picture of Rilyn. Let's throw it back to when she was a wee little one.

Ri when she was only 3 DAYS old! (Look at the paws on that girl!)
3 MONTHS old! My little drool baby. Love her.

What am I thinking?

Okay, so let me be the FIRST person to say that I have no idea what the heck I'm doing. Like, at all. Not even in the slightest. SO no Judgey McjJudgersons please. :)

I started this blog because I thought it would be a great way for distant family members and friends to keep updated on Rilyn and me! I really, really wanted to do one when I was pregnant but never did so I might do a few throwback posts from my good ole preggo days, so be prepared.

First, this week was the Fourth of July wahoooooooooooo!Party! Right? Last year? Yes. This year? No. Rilyn & I went to bed around 11:30 but you would've thought we were  up all night taking body shots (of milk of course) and rollin (on the floor, playing duh!) by the way we slept in the next morning.

We celebrated the 4th by BBQing some delicious and not so nutritious food at my brother's house in Kuna. Then we bummed around til it was dark and lit off some fireworks. Totally legal ones of course. I'm no law-breaker.  My handsome little nephew, Xavier, was OBSESSED with those little snapper things (popper poppers as he called them) and asked us every 5 seconds (literally) if he could play popper poppers. As cute as it sounds, he was driving us all to drink. It was finally night time and I was a wee bit nervous that Ri would poop her little diaper at the sound of the fireworks. NOPE! She basically just chilled like villain and hung out on my lap. She's such a good little baby!

Here are some great photos from our ever-so exciting Fourth:

Ri before we left for Kuna. She has the cutest little smile! :)

Getting ready to go watch the fireworks! Woooooooo!
